The program consists of three key components:

Prevention    Identification    Intervention

Peace Keepers Mentors

A Christian mentoring program designed to create servant hearts and bless all involved in the mentoring process. Older students mentor younger students in aftercare once a week.

"..who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."

2 Corinthians 1:4

Shining Stars

Once a month students are nominated by classroom peers and teachers for showing courage and kindness in and outside the classroom. "Become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe..."

Philippians 2:15

Monthly Guidance Lessons

Nine Christian guidance lessons focusing on building unity and peace among the school family. "... gives you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus."

Romans 15:5-6

By collecting biannual data, the comparison data can be used year after year to monitor bullying, identify high risk areas, new trends, and high risk groups for intervention. Our data is collected during computer lab and consists of 15 to 21 questions (based on age). With the school providing a student survey, it validates bullying/victimization as an important concern to students, parents and staff. Furthermore, the survey communicates to our school family that we care and value their feedback, safety, and well-being. Any student that is identified 3 or more times on the survey results in a parent conference with the guidance counselor and administration.

The following interventions address bullying concerns in and outside of the classroom (unstructured settings such as recess, lunch room, after care, hallways, etc.) and raises Christian accountability in all school settings.

• Friendship/Leadership Groups
• Individual and Parent Conferences
• School and Community Service

Focusing on each of these elements allows the opportunity to promote Christian fellowship, identify areas of concern, and implement solutions that are pleasing to God.

"Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace." James 3:18
